What is the Casco Bay Study Club?
The Casco Bay Study Club is affiliated with the Seattle Study Club network, an international collaboration of dentists dedicated to promoting excellence in comprehensive dentistry. The Casco Bay Study Club (CBSC) is a group of Maine dentists who enjoy sharing ideas, discussing treatment concepts and learning from leading experts. We share the same philosophy on continuing education:
The most successful outcomes result from total case management, an understanding of the overall picture and how each treatment or technique functions within it.
Our highest levels of comprehension are achieved as a direct result of participation and interactionrather than observation.
Learning from and with one's peers in a structured, supportive environment is the best way to reach one's highest potential in the field of dentistry.

We want to know how to meet the needs of this ever-changing field, the skills and knowledge necessary, and how all aspects of dentistry – periodontics, oral surgery or endodontics – can be incorporated into one’s practice.
Members of the Casco Bay Study Club are dedicated to the advancement of team treatment planning and total case management as the optimal tools for achieving the best patient care. We meet monthly to review the latest technological advances and treatments, and share new techniques and styles of serving patients. We also collaborate on challenging cases so that our patients reap the benefits of an entire team of knowledgeable dentists.

Director
Peter R. Then, D.M.D., Dr. Med. Dent.
Dr. Then has been in private practice limited to periodontics and dental implants since 1995. Peter works at the office of Corey + Then Periodontics in South Portland, Maine. He founded the Casco Bay Study Club for his love of learning. He is a Diplomat of the American Board of Periodontology and a member of several dental societies, including the American Academy of Periodontology and the International Team of Oral Implantology. Dr. Then's primary interest in private practice focuses on minimally invasive surgery and interdisciplinary treatment concepts to achieve optimal treatment results in the area of perio-prosthetics and implantology.
Co-Director
John B. Corey, D.M.D
Dr. Corey has specialized in periodontics and implantology in private practice since 1974. He works along side Dr. Then at the office of Corey + Then Periodontics and he is also a Diplomat of the American Board of Periodontology, a member of the American Academy of Periodontology, a member of the American Dental Society, and a member of the several other dental societies. Dr. Corey's private practice focuses on minimally invasive surgery and interdisciplinary treatment concepts to achieve the best treatment results in the area of dental implants and perio-prosthetics.
COORDINATOR
JAM POIDOMANI
Jam is the Director of Continuing Education and Office Relations for Corey + Then Periodontics. She moved to Maine with her husband and son in the Spring of 2022. Prior to her current position, she worked for SDNY Dental as a Treatment Coordinator for Dr. Stephen J. Chu and Dr. Dennis Tarnow. SDNY Dental is a Multispecialty practice with a team of ten doctors in the field of prosthodontists, periodontists, orthodontists and implant specialists. Because of this, she gained experience in treatment planning and working for an office that provides multidisciplinary dental treatment. Although she misses the city and NY’s food scene, she is enjoying and loving her life here in Maine. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her boys!
